Boone
We took our first road trip with Owen this past weekend. We went to Boone, NC for a surprise 60th birthday celebration for Jackie's dad as well as a couple of family reunions. All of Jackie's siblings were able to be there and all of Poppy and Nana's grandchildren we able to come as well. Jackie's mom organized the lodging arrangements and booked a beautiful cabin in the woods big enough for the whole clan of 17! With everyone together, Owen was able to meet the rest of his aunts, uncles and cousins (aside from Aunt Jill and Cousin Ashley).
We enjoyed lots of visiting, eating and laughing. We even enjoyed some singing, courtesy of Penny and Bryan. They were creative and put together a birthday song for Jackie's dad.
We also were able to do some sight seeing. We went up to Grandfather Mountain and took in some of the sights. It is a beautiful part of the country.
Owen did a fantastic job traveling, despite getting a little sick of his car seat by the end of the weekend (the trip is about 3 and half hours one way). We are looking forward to our next road trip in July to Duck, NC to enjoy a few days at the beach. Hopefully, he'll do just as well or better then!

Very nice!! A great time was had by all!!! Thank you for bringing Jackie and Owen to be there!!! Please post more of your pictures on flickr. I can't believe how much Owen is growing.!! We look forward to seeing you soon!!
We are heading to the beach tomorrow. Hopefully the trip goes well for Cadence, the longest she's been in the car so far has been about 30 minutes.
We miss seeing y'all around. Maybe soon we can get together
