About Time...
We apologize for being so lax in our updates recently. We have been very busy since the start of the year. The first quarter of 2009 has brought many ups and downs, so we'll do our best to bring you all up to speed...
Unfortunately, since our last post we have said goodbye to three family members. Within two weeks, my mother's cousin Lou, Jackie's Uncle Ted and Jackie's grandfather all passed away. We were fortunate enough to be with Jackie's grandfather a good bit before he died. Our family members will be greatly missed, but we trust that we will be reunited again.
We have also welcomed new life into the family since our last post. My sister Tina and her husband Jason welcomed their little boy Henry Grae Suter into their family on March 14th. We took a short 24-hour trip to welcome him to the family and congratulate the new parents, but returned later in the week for a longer stay. Jackie was able to stay with Tina and Jason a couple of extra days and thoroughly enjoyed her time helping with the new little one.
On Good Friday, our friend's Brandon and Ginger welcomed their first child, Greyson James Emswiler into their family. We have not yet been able to see this new little one, but look forward to meeting him soon.
On a less significant note, on March 26th, we closed on our first home. We moved in a few days later with the help of our wonderful friends and family. Thanks again to all who helped! It feels great to be homeowners and the commute to the airport for my job is much shorter. Only about 10 minutes door to door! The house is on a culdesac in a young neighborhood. The yard is nice and flat for Owen to run around in as he gets older. We are doing our best to get settled in before the arrival of our next little one. We'll post some more pictures of the house later on.
The pregnancy has been going well so far. We are now 18 weeks along and Jackie is beginning to show a bit more. Jackie feels the little one each day. We have decided to find out the gender of this baby. The ultrasound is scheduled for May 6th and the official due date is September 15th, just two days before Jackie's birthday.
Owen turns one on May 26th. It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone. Owen is crawling up a storm these days. He eats "big boy food" now and he likes everything from pancakes to roast beef. He seems to like the new house, but with his new found mobility, he gets into some mischeif. He also chatters quite a bit and has been making sounds such as, "Tickle-Tickle" and "bye-bye". He says, "Momma" and "Dadda" as well, although, we don't think he really knows what the words mean yet.
We will do our best to post more regularly now that things have calmed down a little bit. We love you all. Until next time...
