2008 Wrap Up...

Our apologies for taking so long to post another update. Needless to say, November and December just seemed to get away from us. We'll do our best to hit the highlights of the past couple of months...

This was the first year that we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas in our own home instead of traveling to be with family. This was mostly due to my (Adam) work schedule, but worked out well as we began some new traditions and enjoyed our first holiday season as parents. Jackie's parents were able to join us for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Jackie's sister Penny, her husband Bryan and their boy Evan were able to join us for Thanksgiving. Our friends Todd and Laura Maberry also joined us for Thanksgiving evening, as they were spending Thanksgiving far from family. My parents and my sister Helen came down the Monday before Christmas for a pre-Christmas celebration. Jackie's brother Andy and his wife Katie came at Christmas to be with us. For both holidays, Jackie went all out and made some delicious food. Although it was a lot of work, Jackie thoroughly enjoyed hosting the holiday celebrations, and did it with expertise beyond her years. Owen got plenty of gifts for Christmas and enjoyed attempting to eat the wrapping paper of each gift he unwrapped. It was humorous to say the least and we're excited to see if he enjoys the gifts more than the paper next year!

The three of us have also done some traveling. We went to Virginia after Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday with the Furry side of the family. We also took a trip as a family, just the three of us, to Williamsburg, Virginia in December. It was the first trip that we had been on as a family without going to see other family or friends. I planned the trip and surprised Jackie with the destination. She didn't know where we were going until we got about 10 miles away! Owen's favorite part of the trip seemed to be the swimming pool at the hotel.

As for Owen, he has changed so much since the last post. He now has six teeth! At his sixth month checkup, he weighed in at 19 pounds, 2 ounces. He is in the 75th percentile for height and weight and in the 50th percentile for head size. He has shown his affection for mashed potatoes, green beans from Poppy's garden (Jackie's Dad), pancakes and sweet potatoes. The doctor recommended table food since the crazy kid won't eat baby food! He likes to play peek-a-boo and pattycake and is getting close to crawling. He is a happy guy and we continue to fall more in love with him each day. Here's a video of him dancing with Uncle Andy on Christmas. Enjoy...

We have plenty more to update on, including the arrival of our new, precious niece, Adeline Elise Dupuis, and a trip to visit our good friends in Chicago! More to come on that later.

We love you all. Until next time...

Wow, Owen is getting so big! Isn't it amazing how much they change in such a short period of time?
